(More customer reviews)My 4 year old daughter has suffered from extremely dry, itchy, and very unsightly dry scalp pretty much since birth. What we originally thought was cradlecap progressed to the point where I was actually really concerned that her hair could not grow through the scales. We tried everything - olive oil, baby oil, coconut oil, specific cradle-cap shampoos, tea-tree oil shampoos, but nothing worked. While in Ireland during the Summer, we asked a pharmacist if there was anything they would recommend, thinking they might have different options than what we could find here in the US. They steered me towards this product, assured me it was safe for a child, and told me to try it for a few weeks, a couple of times a week. After about 2 weeks, we could already see a difference. It seemed to be lifting the scales, without having to fine comb through her hair (which was always painful, and hard to explain to a child). After about 3 weeks I decided to combine the shampoo with an olive oil treatment - I would soak her scalp with olive oil about an hour before her bath, cover her head with a cap, rinse it out in the tub and then use the shampoo. I then used the fine comb, and was absolutely, completely stunned with the amount of gunk I easily removed, without digging into her scalp or pulling on her hair. It was just THERE! There is just no comparison in how her head looks now, versus 2 months ago. I recently switched to the Treatment shampoo, which is the second stage, and it seems to be maintaining the excellent results.
One last point - it smells really, really great! It's very sudsy and foamy, and it rinses out very easily. It also easily cuts through the olive oil without having to use multiple applications, and her hair has never been so shiny.
