This is Curly Girl method friendly (re ingredients), and here's how you can use it:
1. by raking and scrunching--After shampooing, while still in the shower or just out, bent over, use as much as you think you need to coat your volume/length of hair. Use your finger to rake it down, then scrunch it up claw-handed to begin to bring out your natural curl. Straighten up, gently--GENTLY--place clumped curls as you want them to lay, and let air dry. (If you prefer to use a blow-dryer for speed, make sure you use a diffuser and you only dry hair half to 80% of the way, let it air dry the rest of the way. For proper diffuser technique, think of not disturbing curl, so either use the gentler "place in diffuser and cover with hand" or the "pixie curl" technique, which you can google up).
2. Skip Curling: This product was designed for a particular technique, skip curling. You can google this up as well, but it involves taking sections of curls (curly hair tends to clump in its own way, so you know what I mean, right, by taking a curl), smoothing down with products on fingers, curling it and then releasing and "skipping it". You need to see the video of this (try YouTube) to get the proper gist.
Whichever method you use, this is a solid curl-defning, frizz-softening, shine-enhancing product. In my experience, it needs to be accompanied by other products to work best--a leave-in conditioner under, and a gel on top. Many curlies swear by the combination of this product with AG: ReCoil. I'm gonna try that next, as it has huge fans.
One kudo: If you use a bit or a lot too much, this will smooth out your curl too much, and you'll end up with elongated curls. Some people like this look, some don't. So, just be aware.
