(More customer reviews)I purchased this shampoo on the off chance that it actually works, meaning it claims to help keep the hair I already have. Obviously this promise is difficult to ever evaluate, but from my research of the ingredients, it seems like there might be some basis to suspect that it would. Looking at my father's head of hair isn't encouraging, so I'm willing to spend a little extra money on a product that might help me avoid his situation years from now.
I don't use a very large amount of the shampoo itself since I have short hair, so my first bottle lasted me 2+ years. It also doesn't lather very much, partially because of the amount I use, but also because it lacks many of the synthetic ingredients that I suspect cause cheaper shampoos to achieve this effect.
As far as the smell goes, I've never noticed anything wrong with it. The shampoo is all natural and fragrance fee, so of course it might not smell like Herbal Essences, but it's certainly a much better product as a whole.
