(More customer reviews)My benchmark is the Paul Mitchel Tea Tree shampoo, which is the most expensive but within seconds of using it you can feel the tingle in your scalp. And the aroma really helps to wake you up in the morning. The Avalon is less noticeable, but it is organic and made w/ few chemicals, which may contribute to the mildness. It cleans very well, just doesn't carry a pungent tea tree aroma or tingle.
